update

I just wanted to update you all!  If you're looking for your galleries (Laura & SueAnne!)... I hope to have them up today or tomorrow! I apologize for the delay!!

Shane and I shot a wedding this weekend.  We had so much fun!!  I have so much to say about it... (the weather was perfect, the bride was beautiful!!) But I'll try not to ramble on too much.  For now, here is a little peek (a night time shot of the couple heading to The Verandah for the reception)...

More to come in the next couple of weeks!

Kids Will Be Kids

And babies will be babies.  Dads will be Dads. (sorry Dads, but as a group... you don't like having your picture made) ;)  I want sessions to be relaxed, so I try my best to go with the flow...

Sadie was DONE with me... she was much more interested in eating the paper!

But before our "baby meltdown", we got these...

{Happy 6 Months to Sadie-baby!}

Collages

I am now offering collages in 2 sizes... 15x15 and 12x12!  Each collage comes mounted and sprayed for protection.  This means you can frame them (without glass) or put them on a decorative easel...

I had promised to share more of Brooks (this sweet little man!)...  He was SO cute at this session.  We'd sit him on the backdrop with the blocks and he'd spin around facing the back... it was too, too cute!!  I thought this collage really told a "story" about our time together.  And this last image of the collage really says, "the end".  ha ha...

Doll

That's what she is... an absolute doll!  I first met Sara Michael and her big sister, Madison Rose in January!  Ms. Sara Michael came back to see me and wow, has she grown!  But she's just as beautiful as ever!  This was from our session in January..

And from our most recent session...

More of this baby doll...

I was really amazed by Sara Michael.  She was the most laid back baby, or so it seemed at our session!  She had teeth coming in and wasn't feeling well that day, but you could hardly tell!  What a sweetie!

Blessings

Count your blessings.

1. baby laughter
Sadie

2. a wonderfully supportive husband who takes an interest in my work {and who is fabulous himself! Note the copyright on the image above!}  :)

3. children who share the word of God with adults {bless them... Savannah & Alex}

Lots happening this week... Savannah and Alex start back to school on Wednesday!  Savannah will be in the 4th grade and Alex will be in the 1st!  Wow.  And Sadie will be 6 months old on Wednesday!  It's wild... I remember how I was SO looking forward to when she turned 3 months and the colic would get better.  And now she's double that!  :)  Time flies, as you well know.  Capture those moments.

I'd be more than happy to do that for you!  But if you're not ready to hire a photographer, take your camera and get out in the yard with your children.  Capture those "kid moments".
The fun, carefree ones...

Catch the laughter.

It's contagious.

A Little Different

I'm trying something a little different.  I'm always changing things, I know.  I guess it's because I'm continuously trying to define my style.  What says "Kim Kelley Photography" to you?  {Feel free to comment and answer this! :)}  Am I simple?  Am I colorful?  Am I silly?  Sometimes serious?  Am I fun?
I think I'd like to be a little of all of that!  :)

Closeups are always my favorites!  So, I'm bringing them to you closeup!  I have a thing for eyes.  Well... eyes and baby feet, actually.  And chubby baby legs and you know that fine hair on newborns... all over their backs and shoulders?  That too!  But back to eyes... take a look at this handsome man, Carson!

Total Sweetness!  :)

A World of Discovery

I've said it before... Childhood is about discovery and learning.  And for me... so is photography.  I love, LOVE it!  It is by the grace of God that I'm able to work at something I love.  I was experimenting with new conversions and loved the feel of this image...

{*edited to add that it would appear that I overuse the word, love!  When you read the word, love... FEEL the excitement.}

      Vintagebw_2

This is a black & white vintage conversion and it SO fits the mood of the image, I think.  Of course, it's probably because Layne is absolutely adorable!  Look at that hair and that sweet expression!!  He and Sadie are two peas in a pod!  More of Layne's session to come later...

:)  Happy Saturday!

Family

Df2I wanted to share some favorites from this recent family session.  I don't think Drew & Avery could ever have bad pictures... they are adorable and have the brightest blue eyes I've ever seen!

I couldn't believe how much Drew & Avery had changed since our last session!  Drew is talking even more and Avery has grown so much!  They are both just precious!!!

I'm reminded every day that our children grow so fast.  It's so important to capture these moments because they're truly gone before you know it.

a few of my favorites...

Goals

I have a couple of goals at each session.  First, I want to capture children.  That could mean the silly faces, the every day expressions, the big grins, the solemn looks... anything that defines your child!  And what's my next goal?  F.U.N.  I want your children to remember me... I want them to *want* to come and see me again.  I want them to have fun with me!

{Big grin... total sweetness!}

Childhood Discovery

I wanted to share a couple of storyboards from a recent session.  Seth is another of my little buddies... I first photographed him when he was about 9 months old.  Though I will admit that he liked me better when we saw each other in the Mexican restaurant in town *without* my camera.  :)  Or maybe he was excited about his food (fabulous food there!)  :)  Either way, he's a sweetie!

Beautiful eyes!!
Sbseth1

I love storyboards!  And it's probably no secret that I love quotes!  Here is one that I thought fit well with this story from our session together...

"There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again."  {Elizabeth Lawrence}

I love my job.  (!!!!)

Childhood is all about discovery...
